Question and Answers

I'm new to speedrunning what is it? Speedrunning is a term used when trying to complete a game or area of a game in the quickest time possible.

How do I get involved? Getting involved is simple as sending an email with an attached link to a video of you completing the run.

How do I get the reward money? Since money cannot be transferred between players effectively, the only way money can be transferred is through constant loss at gambling which can be used as an effective transfer of Units.

What is Splicing? Splicing is a form of cheating that involves putting together pre-recorded clips in order to obtain the best run, a player can effectively record a good level and edit it into another set of clips to create the 'perfect run'. Splicing however can be detected and players who involve themselves in this method of cheating will receive consequences.

What can be considered cheating/glitches/exploits? Using third party programs such as cheat engine or your own scripts to alter game play is considered cheating and are runs that will not be allowed to be submitted. Glitches refer to bugs that are in the game that were not meant to be used when the developers created the game, glitches are allowed to be used as all players experience the same issues on the live server and therefore be exploited by all players equally.

I can't get x rank Speed running as always requires dedication and skill, everyone has their bad runs and what rank you get is based on your skill and luck, sometimes it wont be your fault that you fail, it may be the rotation of the global timer that causes a run to end.

What is a global timer? A global timer is a timer that starts as soon as the server launches and is important to learn as it effects where moving platforms will be once you arrive at that level. Some levels are effected greatly by global timers whereas some not so much.

How do I configure the global timer? The global timer can't necessary be configured apart from the start menu when you begin the game. This requires you to wait on that screen for x amount of time. A good way to look at the global timer is as a bus stop. Consider the following: If level 2 has a platform that arrives at the bottom of the ground every 10 seconds and you completed level 1 when the platform moved up by 1 second, then you would be in the same position as a player who finished 9 seconds before you. This is how the global timer can effect speed runs greatly.
